FIFA and Mythical Launch 'FIFA Rivals' Mobile Game With Web3 Marketplace, First Post-EA Title

FIFA and Los Angeles-based Mythical Games on 12 June released "FIFA Rivals," an officially licensed, free-to-play mobile football title that blends arcade-style gameplay with blockchain technology. The launch is FIFA’s first foray into videogames since the end of its three-decade partnership with Electronic Arts, which produced the long-running FIFA console series. The game is available globally on Apple’s App Store and Google Play for iOS and Android devices. Players compete in live events and league tournaments, and can trade or retain custody of digital items earned in play through Mythical’s built-in Web3 marketplace, which records ownership on a blockchain.
